Wolves Lose to West Ham, Falling Further Behind in Premier League Race

London Stadium Proving to Be a House of Horrors for Wolves

West Ham's Bowan and Benrahma Score Second Half Goals to Secure Victory

Wolverhampton Wanderers' hopes of securing a top-half finish in the Premier League suffered a setback as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday. The loss leaves Wolves 10th in the standings, six points behind seventh-placed West Ham.

Wolves took the lead in the first half through Fabio Silva, but West Ham hit back in the second half with goals from Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma. The defeat was Wolves' fourth in their last five Premier League games, and they have now failed to win any of their last six away matches in the competition.

"We're very disappointed with the result," Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo said. "We didn't play well in the second half and we were punished for our mistakes. We need to improve our consistency and start winning games again if we want to achieve our goals this season."

West Ham, meanwhile, moved up to seventh place in the Premier League with the win. They are now just two points behind sixth-placed Arsenal and have a game in hand. The Hammers have won their last three Premier League games and are unbeaten in their last five.

"I'm delighted with the win," West Ham manager David Moyes said. "We showed great character to come back from a goal down and win the game. We're in a good position in the league and we're confident that we can continue to push for a top-six finish."
