WNBA News: Big Trades Shake Up the League

Aces Acquire All-Star Guard

The Las Vegas Aces have made a major move, acquiring All-Star guard Chelsea Gray from the Los Angeles Sparks in a three-team trade. In return, the Sparks receive guard Riquna Williams and a 2024 first-round pick, while the Indiana Fever get forward Aaliyah Boston and a 2023 second-round pick. Gray is a two-time All-Star and one of the league's top playmakers, averaging 14.8 points and 5.9 assists per game last season. Her addition gives the Aces a dynamic backcourt alongside reigning MVP A'ja Wilson.

Dream Trade for Former No. 1 Pick

The Atlanta Dream have traded for former No. 1 overall pick Jackie Young from the Las Vegas Aces in a three-team deal. In return, the Aces receive guard Odyssey Sims and a 2024 first-round pick, while the Dallas Wings get forward Kristine Anigwe. Young, the No. 1 pick in the 2019 draft, has averaged 11.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in her career. She is expected to play a key role for the Dream, who are looking to improve after finishing with the league's worst record last season.

Fever Acquire Young Star

The Indiana Fever have acquired promising young forward Aaliyah Boston from the Los Angeles Sparks in a three-team trade. In return, the Sparks receive guard Riquna Williams and a 2024 first-round pick, while the Las Vegas Aces get guard Chelsea Gray. Boston, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 draft, averaged 9.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in her rookie season. She is expected to be a key part of the Fever's rebuild under new head coach Marianne Stanley.
